GWSS 301 Foundations of Gender, Women, and Sexuality Studies

This course introduces you to key issues in the field of GWSS with a special focus on voice: Who gets to speak? By what means? And for whom? this class considers the ways that categories of identity (e.g., gender, sexuality, race, class, religious affiliation, and citizenship status) intersect and shaped lived experience. Similar to an intro course, this class is open to anyone curious about GWSS.

GWSS 401 Gender Discourse and Politics

This course explores gender discourse and politics in a global context. We study theoretical and practice-oriented approaches in Gender, Women, and Sexuality Studies along selected themes. Students emerge from the course with the analytical skills and knowledge to contextualize, critically assess, and comparatively examine structures and institutions as they pertain to gender identity and sexuality

GWSS 498 GWSS Capstone

The Gender, Women, and Sexuality Studies Capstone serves as the culmination of students' work in the major or minor. In this course, students compile, reflect on, and self-assess their written work from different courses and demonstrate their growth by writing a reflection paper. Students meet weekly for group discussion or individually with the faculty member.
