(503) 943-4444 EMERGENCY (from any off-campus phone)

Any crimes, traffic incidents, or suspicious circumstances occurring on or adjacent to campus should immediately be reported to Campus Safety. This office also is responsible for lost and found, campus escort service, and visitor information.

Identification Cards

All members of the University community (students, staff, and faculty) are required to obtain and carry a UP identification card when on campus. This card allows access to various locations on campus. Information on obtaining a UP identification card is available on the Department of Campus Safety website. To pick up your UP ID card, all community members must present current, government-issued ID along with an official document that includes the individual's UP ID number. The first ID card is free and is used during your entire course of study at the University.  All ID cards remain property of the University of Portland.

Your ID card is used for several services on campus including computer services, the Library, access to residence halls, lab access, and meal service. If you lose your card, please report the loss as soon as possible to the Department of Campus Safety. Students using the Bon Appetit meal services need to also report the loss to the food service office. Replacing a lost card costs $10 for the first replacement and $20 for every replacement after the first.

Parking

Parking permits are mandatory year-round, including during summer session. Campus Safety will enforce all University parking rules and regulations, which are available on the Campus Safety webpage. Summer Session students should park in the main lot behind the Pilot House. Students may not park in the Waldschmidt Hall lot or in reserved parking spaces. Parking is also prohibited in the neighborhood north of Willamette Blvd. Vehicles parked in violation of University regulations may be cited and/or towed, without notice. Fines for parking violations are doubled if they are not paid or appealed within 14 days after the citation is issued. If the citation is not paid after 28 days, the vehicle may be immobilized and/or towed at the owner’s expense. Unpaid fines may be charged to student accounts.
